Jim playing guitar

Jim Farmer is a Texan singer/songwriter who resides in San Antonio. By day he works in the field of web site design, and by night he pursues his love of music by writing, recording, and performing.

Jim writes songs in an eclectic style that is best described as pop-rock with jazz and folk influences. He currently plays guitar and sings in a choir at Mass on Sundays, and he performs at weddings and other special events on occasion. In addition to songwriting, Jim plays (to varying degrees of skill) the following instruments: guitar, bass, keyboards, and harmonica. He is also proficient in the use of MIDI sequencing software and drum machines.

In 2003 Jim compiled 14 of his songs into a collection entitled "In a Better World." This CD contains solo (and a few band) recordings made between 1989 and 2000. For more information about Jim's CD, visit the AUDIO SAMPLES page.

Prior to becoming a solo performer, Jim was a member of The Repercussions, a San Antonio area techno-dance-pop band that gigged around San Antonio in the late '80s and '90s. In addition, Jim has been a member of a loose-knit musical group called the X-Tras since the mid-80s.
